FAQ

How do you calculate dropshipping profit?

Profit per order = what the customer pays − product cost − supplier shipping − payment fees − other fees − a refund allowance − ad cost per order. Divide by what the customer pays for your margin. Monthly profit = profit per order × orders − fixed monthly costs such as your Shopify plan and apps.

What is a good profit margin for dropshipping?

There’s no single right number, and we don’t quote an industry average. Your margin has to cover refunds, rising ad costs and your fixed costs and still leave you paid. Set a target margin in step 4 and the calculator shows the price you’d need to hit it.

What is break-even ROAS?

Break-even ROAS is the return on ad spend where ads use up all the profit an order leaves before advertising. Break-even ROAS = revenue per order ÷ (revenue − all non-ad costs). If your ads return less than that, each sale loses money. Break-even CPA is the same idea in dollars: the most you can pay in ads for one order.

How do I calculate my dropshipping selling price?

Price for a target margin = (product cost + shipping + fixed payment fee + ad cost + fixed costs per order) ÷ (1 − payment % − other fees % − refund % − target margin %), minus any shipping you charge the customer. The calculator does this for you.

Is dropshipping still profitable in 2026?

It depends entirely on your product’s numbers: landed cost, delivery time, refund rate and what you pay for each customer. Put a real supplier quote and a realistic ad cost into this calculator before you commit budget; if the profit per order is thin at your current ad cost, it will be thinner when ads get more expensive.
