Each complaint, and what fixes it
1. Slow or unhelpful support (19 of 35 reviews)
“Support told me twice someone would follow up in 24–48 hours, and that a manager named Irene was on my case.”
“You’d expect the support team to at least know how the basic features work.”
What fixes it: Track123 and CWILL both advertise live chat support on their listings (Track123 affiliate link: “responsive, expert live chat support”; CWILL affiliate link: “24/7 support”). Ask one real question in chat during the free plan before you commit.
2. Quota use and refunds on paid plans (15 of 35 reviews)
“Unable to get a refund for a paid plan days after it was taking out of my account.”
“In addition, the quota count is incorrect and creates major problems with order gaps and unavailable tracking.”
What fixes it: Every tracking app here meters shipments, so the risk is the same: an initial sync can use quota fast. Before upgrading, check how many past orders the app imports on install and whether you can limit it. Free plans: 17TRACK 50 shipments/month, Track123 affiliate link 50 orders/month, CWILL affiliate link 20 orders/month.
3. Tracking sync errors and wrong updates (11 of 35 reviews)
“It does not link the tracking number into the backend of Shopify.”
“Unfortunately, the app only syncs order data from the past 180 days.”
What fixes it: Test with your own carriers and a few old orders. If warranty or claim requests come in months after delivery, keep those in a claims tool rather than the tracking app: Claimify Our own app handles claims, returns and warranty requests from one dashboard. The claim deadline checker shows how long you have to file with the carrier.
4. Rigid tracking page and missing features (8 of 35 reviews)
“You can’t even add a simple welcome message to the tracking page.”
“You have to build everything from scratch using very basic and limited customization tools.”
What fixes it: Compare tracking-page editors in the free plans. Track123 affiliate link lists customizable tracking pages and branded emails; CWILL affiliate link lists a branded, localized tracking page. Build your real page in each before choosing.
5. Unwanted or duplicate customer emails (6 of 35 reviews)
“good for updating orders with tracking numbers, but they're sending duplicate email notifications to my customers.”
“When importing data from the store, the application automatically sends delivery emails to customers.”
What fixes it: Whichever app you install, switch notifications off before the first import, send yourself a test order, then switch them on. That avoids a burst of old delivery emails to customers.
